We are pleased to announce our new video “The making of a Zaug”.
It’s the first in a series of video’s that we will be releasing to show how the Zaug is made and various other videos that will show the uses and benefits of our stove. We hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed making it.
We have been asked questions about how well our stoves stand up to moisture, if they were to be kept outside in a greenhouse situation.
To answer this question, here is some information and pictures showing our method for combating moisture and rust problems.
Before the primer goes on, our steel is given a lacquer bath to remove dirt and contaminants. Once dried, the stove is then coated with a 2-part silicone/zinc primer, made especially to be corrosion resistant.
Our primer provides outstanding protection for metal surfaces operating at temps from 500°F (260°C) to 1000°F (538°C) but also offers superior protection from thermal shock throughout the temperature range.
The final prime coat is 2.0 mils thick and tough as nails. After drying for 24 hours, the stoves are sent to the paint shop, to receive 2 coats of paint and one coat of clear coat for a complete and durable system of approximately 7 mils thick.
Here’s an opportunity for you to come out and see the amazing Zaug stove at the South Sound Sustainability Expo. It happens this Saturday March 2nd. Come out and see all the other exciting new technologies and products geared for sustainability.
This public event is intended to provide residents and business owners in the greater Tacoma metropolitan area a place to discover services, products, companies, and agencies in our region that address sustainability needs in our community. Expo participants will learn about a variety of local goods and services, including: transportation alternatives, green construction, energy conservation, waste minimization and recycling, alternative energy sources, global climate change initiatives, and how to be economically efficient while being sustainable. There will be no charge for public attendance.

New stuff in 2013 includes a mini-Tacoma Farmer’s Market, Art Envirochallenger Exhibit, SOTA original environmental dance performance, and new workshops.
Listen to Jeff Rense talk with Clif High about the Zaug Stove and Rocket Mass Heater Technology, specifically naming the Zaug Stove as “Pleasing and Standardized”.
The interview lasts approximately 38 minutes long, and towards the beginning, the conversation happened upon rocket mass heaters and how great they operate. You can listen to the interview by clicking the link below.
It’s here on our website. Just click on the “Forum” button in the menu bar, and dive in.
Come share your thoughts and knowledge with us on our new board. Our intention is to have a place where people bring new ideas and technology, and hopefully we can learn to make better products through interaction with you guys.

Zaug Stoves announces a milestone in achievement this week, with an international shipment en route to Quebec Canada, over 3200 miles away. We are very pleased to have our craftsmanship extend so far out in the world, and we look forward to delivering many stoves even farther away.
As a result of this international shipment, we have learned volumes about customs, freight carriers, drop-shipments, and crate building.
Our shipping process has been streamlined so that our future customers will enjoy a speedy shipping time with the lowest rates in the industry. Thank you, Quebec, for being our magic number one for international sales!
Comparing the exhaust of a conventional wood stove in full operation (left) to a Zaug Stove in full operation (right), the evidence is clear. The Zaug Stove burns much cleaner. The design of a Zaug allows for oxygen to mix with fire for a complete burn of gasses resulting in very little wasted fuel exhaust.
For a live demo, or to answer any of your questions, feel free to contact us via email or phone. Our information is in the “Contact Us” section of this website.
The Zaug Stove is a new type of wood burning stove that uses heat more efficiently than conventional wood burning stoves. It can also be used as a rocket mass heater to retain heat within a thermal mass.
The Zaug uses less fuel than a conventional wood stove, to provide the same amount of heat to keep you warm. The advantage is in the horizontal running duct which provides heat to other areas you wish to be heated, beyond where the stove is sitting.
